Guitar techniques.

Who inspires you as a guitarist? How have they influenced your guitar playing? *

B.B King John Mayer Jimi Hendrix Prince Nile Rogers Gary Moore Richie Sambora

It's hard to try and summarise how all of these guitar players have influenced me but I'll try to keep it down to a few words.

B.B King = Spacing, vibrato and feel. John Mayer = Feel and technical prowess (see youtube video) Prince = Emotional input, funk, Nile Rogers = Funk and timing Gary Moore = Vibrato, Feel, technical prowess Richie Sambora = Technical prowess coupled with great feel and emotinal input. Jimi Hendrix = Pioneer and legendary guitar player for his unpredictable and wild guitar solos.

Describe your guitar style/tone? How is this fitting for your band? *

I prefer to have a nice clean tone with delay and reverb on a fender strat or telecaster at the moment. I do also love the PRS for a lead guitar as they have great Santana Esq sound which separates it from my fender clean tone. This is perfect for our sound as our main sound is R&B and funk.

My preferred Genres are more of a Blues/R&B/Funk sound on guitar. When it comes to lead playing I am heavily influenced by the blues and funk music. I love to use a fender strat for blues solos and i love the feel of a strat. However a PRS is the guitar I would usually use for any lead playing as it has a more rocky sound to them.

Explain why you believe you need to work on this and how do you believe it's going to help with the progression within your guitar playing/composition /personal development *

My main weakness is the co-ordination between both hands when i start to play fast. I can't play very quick with regards to lead guitar, and wish to improve this.

Pick one of the articles above and read through it. Copy and paste a part of this article that you find interesting or will be beneficial for guitar playing within the box below (do not copy the whole post) *

In order to make a study of how to approach, "Playing for the Song," we need to adopt a few simple attitudes, such as; the "Less is More Principle," and the overall ability to, "Imply Chords," with small lines and double-stops.

How do you come up with your guitar parts for your songs within your bands? *

If it's not an original of my own, I just have a listen and 'feel it out'. Meaning I just hear in my head what kind of guitar part is needed to compliment the chords progression and sound that the song is going for.

Do you believe that you play an active role within your band's songwriting? If so describe what you add to the composition progression and if not explain what you can do to be more active within it. *

I do. Myself and Charles are the primary songwriters for the band. Jerome and Nina work on our ideas with us once we present them and we take them in the direction we need to.
