How productive have your band been within rehearsals over the last week? What progression have you made? *

Last week was a bit slow in terms of progress. We threw around some ideas but ultimately didn't go far with them.

If so what have you been doing that develops your set progress and if not what can you do to make your sessions more productive? *

We had some creative mental blocks last week, so what we did to help ourselves was listen to certain types of music to try and give us some inspiration.

What has been the biggest issue within your band that has occurred since the start of this year and how have you overcome it? *

The only real problem we have faced is just the odd pod sessions where creativity is low every now and then which slows down our progress.

Valentine's Gig Evaluation and Improvements

Please complete and upload onto your blog, along with copying a link of the footage of the gig. https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/blog/how-to-promote-your-gigs-ds00/

How do you believe your band performed overall? (Explain and debate) *

I believe we performed to a high standard and am very proud of our performance. Our timing was on point and i'm very proud of our sense of rhythm and timing. Of course there were a few minor mishaps here and there, however I felt we were confident and our musicianship was to a high level.

How do you believe you performed personally? What went well and how could you have improved?*

I felt we performed very well and I really enjoyed it. I think human nature was our weakest song just due to some uncertainty when it came to the changes.

What improvements/aims did you get within your feedback and what are you going to implement into your rehearsals to ensure they are achieved within your O2 performance? *

The main thing that I think we could improve upon (I was also told this by tutors) is to have more communication between myself and the rest of the band. For example myself and Charles acknowledging eachother while we play.

How well did you promote/market the gig? (Provide examples of your marketing) *

I felt we could have done more improving on our marketing side than anything else. We uploaded an original track to soundcloud and posted the link on our facebook page so people could listen to what kind of style we are. We also set up an events page where we had 30 confirmed guests.

Do you believe your marketing was effective? (Explain and provide reasoning behind your answer) *

We took a long time to settle on a name, so when we finally set up our social media accounts we didn't have much time to promote before the gig. This affected how many people we could have had attend the show.

How many audience members did you get along to the gig? Do you believe this would be an acceptable amount for your O2 gig? *

Of the 30 people that attended maybe half of that number turned up. We will need at least 5 times that amount.

To fill up the O2 each night each band playing needs bring along approximately 60 people? How are you going to improve your marketing to get this amount of people to come along? *

For me I'll have all of my friends back from uni during the O2 gig, so I can have a large number of guests come along. I can also invite family too. We also have so much more time in advance to start getting people to confirm if they can come along.

What marketing strategy do you believe is the most effective?

  • Busking

  • Outside Gigs

  • Posters

  • Radio Interviews

  • Social Media Promotion

  • Word of Mouth

  • Networking Events

Explain why you believe this is the most effective strategy and describe how you would personalise it for your O2 gig? *

SOCIAL MEDIA:

All of the above are crucial to marketing, but what I think is that now we have an original song finished and on soundcloud, we can get more original material finished and put it out there for people to listen to.
