Rehearsal Evaluation Jan 23rd-29th.

Name * Ross Chatterton

Tutor Group *

ED2A

What was the performance technique that you picked in your last form and how did it help you in your pod session? *

I picked stage presence. We didn't work on our stage presence as we were working on cover songs for our upcoming gig.

How were your pod sessions over the last week and what progression did you make? *

They were very progressive last week, we started and finished up learning a new cover song and spent the week polishing a number of our songs up that we have recently learned.

What is your approach to songwriting and do you believe that your method is effective? *

I always begin my songwriting process by thinking of a certain theme or a certain mood I want and try and create a chord progression accordingly. Sometimes I'll come up with a chord progression on the spot and I go from there. Once I have found a progression I'm happy with I'll begin working on the rest of the song such as the chorus and bridge. Songwriting for everybody is different but for me this works.

What genre is your band and how do you cater your composition approach to ensure your songs fit this genre? *

R&B/funk. My natural songwriting caters to these two genres by default so I don't have to think about it.

Keeping in mind the genre of your band how do you plan to market yourselves in order to get outside gigs? *

With social media and word of mouth. We'll be describing ourselves as an R&B funk band who bleed other genres together to create a unique sound.

Do you believe that your band would be ready to play a 30 minute set this weekend? If so why? If not why and what measures should you put in place to ensure you're gig ready? *

Yes we would. The reason being is that we rehearse our songs constantly mixing in cover songs so that we have a length set.

Pick another rehearsal technique to introduce into your next pod sessions *

Record a song and listen back to it

Apply warm up techniques

Create a rehearsal plan

Repetition of sections

Setting correct mix levels

Playing along to a metronome

Setting the pod up before session begins

Allow time for band Discussion
