First week of rehearsals back, new members of the band and new material.

New members, Charles and Charlotte:

This year we have added two new members in Charlotte and Charles. Charles is a multi instrumentalist, who is going to be playing keys for us. He's also a talented songwriter in his own right and is a great addition to the group.

We have also added Charlotte to the group who is a singer and is good friends with Nina our current singer. They work very well together with them being friends outside of our bands, and she is also a talented vocalist.

Both of them have fit in really well instantly and has massively improved our band.

First Week of Rehearsals, working on original material:

Over the summer I had wrote some original songs for the band, and so had Charles. We sent a few ideas back and forth over the summer through Facebook. In our first proper pod session back we straight away worked on one of my song ideas. After we had finished our session myself and Charles took a few guitars and began working on the song again and started laying out the chorus and verses properly, deciding on what chords etc.

I went home that night and wrote a bridge for the song and brought it in the following day and showed it to the group. Charles, Jerome, and myself stayed behind to finalise the whole song and run through it multiple times until we were happy. Jerome had wrote a melody over the bridge during this session which will be played by Millie on Guitar.

So in two days we have on song finished instrumentally, and the girls went off to work on lyrics and harmonies, which we will listen to in our next session.
