Songwriting - First Idea I brought to the group.

A few weeks back while we were in rehearsals I began playing with some chords with the intention to have a funky sounding song. I threw the idea out to the group and we began jamming to it. The chords I had used were G minor7, C minor7, and D minor7 with a slowish tempo and a funky based strumming pattern.

While we had jammed nicely to the track we hit a mental block and couldn't figure out where to go next with it, and we couldn't think of how the vocals would work over it so we dropped it.

I still plan on using this idea at a later date even If it is for a differant group, but for now I'll leave it to one side.

Now while we didn't do much with this idea it was a great experiance for me personally to have an idea, get other peoples opinions on it and try to progress with it. So regardless I gained experiance in songwriting by simply having an idea, trying to work on it and see where we can take it with the others.
