Stage Performance Technique with Nick

This morning we spent our time working on our stage presence, individually, and as a band with nick. We got into our bands and jumped on stage, then nick would position us around the stage, telling us differant things to do, and why to do them. For example we were told (guitarists/bassists) to stand on the bass bins at times, this was to bring a bit mor energy as it shows we are clearly enjoying it and want to emphasise certain parts we are playing. We also were talked to about making use of our areas of the stage, and to not get stuck in one position for the whole performence. This takes away from the performence as it looks like nobody is really enjoying what they are doing.

Nick also said to make sure to make eye contact with other band members while playing and getting everybody into the song. Each band then played one song each and tried to implement the new techniques nick has told us, and really make sure to bring the performence to life.

It's one thing to play a song, but to "feel" it and make it a performence that you are enjoying, and that the audience can see this. If they do they too want to enjoy themselves and join you in having a good time.
