Live lounge studio recording

Today we did two things in the studio, one being that we played one of our songs and recorded it as a band, and we set up the recording equipment for another band for them to play.

i'll start with our band recording our song first. We took our instruments into the liveroom with our jack leads, and waited for one of the other bands to set up our instruments into the recording channels. We had 8 channels to be able to record everything on, drums, two guitars, bass, and vocals. The keys would be recorded using the midi inside the control room, Nina also recorded her vocals in here while the rest of us were in the live room. We used 4 channels for the drums, two for guitars, one for bass, and lastly one for vocals.

While the other band finished setting up our instruments into the channels we were making sure we could all hear ourselves in the headphones. We would speak to phil through the talkback and get him to adjust our respective volumes if need be. After we were all ready and set to go we recorded our track first time and finished.

Next it was our turn to set up the recording equipment for another band. Myself and millie headed into the live room to make sure we were setting up the channels for the bass, acoustic, and electric guitars. Once we checked that everybody was happy with their volumes, and that they could hear themselves clearly we left the live room.

We then went to the control room, nathan was on the computer making sure every channel was recording properly. Once this was done, millie spoke to the band through playback and made sure they were all ready to go before recording.

After recording the other band we went into the mixing room lastly to make some touches to our first track we recorded just over a month ago. We added in a vital guitar intro that we have been needing to do for a while, so millie grabbed her guitar and we quickly added it in. Then it was a matter of going through the track, adjusting some levels if need be, and a few general touch ups to it, nothing major was needed to be done.
